I have eaten at the original Olga's in the Detroit area since the late 1970's. The Peasant Soup is made with Gyro (lamb) meat. No pork. When I make this at home, I use 1 lb. ground lamb, 1/2 cup quick barley, 2 small zucchini cut up, 1 medium onion, 2 stalks celery, 2 diced garlic cloves, and 8 oz frozen mixed vegetables.
