I own the JJ 2A3-40 also and in my opinion they are a superb tube. I would go with the JJ 300B and spend any money left over on the very best output transformer you can afford. I have three well respected pairs output transformers suitable for 2A3 or 300B and the output transformers make much more of a difference than the tubes.
