Berlenga Grande Island (sometimes referred to as just Berlenga Island) is the biggest island in the Berlengas archipelago and nature reserve in Portugal. The island is reached via a 45-minute boat ride from the coastal town of Peniche, which is 100 kilometres north of Lisbon.

The Berlengas Islands are frequently savaged by powerful storms, and historically the rocky islands were notorious for shipwrecks. A 16th-century monastery was even constructed on the largest island, Berlenga Grande, to rescue shipwrecked sailors, but was soon abandoned due to pirate raids.
